Deputy GEPA CEO leads 5-member Ghanaian delegation to China

A five-member team of Senior Officials from the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA) is in China for a three-week Seminar on China’s Development Experience.

The GEPA team which is led by its Deputy Chief Executive Officer (DCEO), Mr. Akilu Sayibu has joined 16 other developing countries for the seminar.

The group will undergo series of lectures as well as cultural and socio-economic visitations to some industrial and historic cities in China.

The Training Seminar is under the auspices of the Academy of International Business of Office of the Ministry of Commerce of the Peoples Republic of China.

Some of the topics expected to be feature during the seminars include: New Concepts, New Thoughts and New Strategies of China National Leader’s Governance, the One Belt and One Road Initiative , China’s experience in Agricultural Development and Agricultural Modernization as well as China’s experience in International Economic and Technical Cooperation among other key topics and discussions.

Aside the lectures, practical visitations will be made to the Great Wall of China, the Bird’s Nest and Chinatown.

The team will also visit Xi’ an during which the delegation would visit the X’i an City Planning Exhibition Hall and also the Drum Tower Square.

122 participants from 17 countries are participating in the seminars for 2017.

In a statement sent to The Chronicle via whatsApp, the Deputy CEO of GEPA, Mr Akilu Sayibu thank the government and people of China for sponsoring the seminars and providing with the requisite know-how to advance the development of Ghana and other participating countries.

He explained that the knowledge acquired from the seminars would be used to enhance and improve their performances at work. Mr. Sayibu also stated that participating in the seminars would improve their understanding of some of the ethics and strategies of China in terms of their economic advancement and development. This, he said, will go a long way to enhance the business relationship between China and Ghana.

Sammuel Lartey?Janet Armah?Joyce Baah Tawiah and Madam Ramatu are other members of the delegation from GEPA. They are expected back in Ghana on June 22, 2017.
