Dorcas Affo-Toffey, Deputy Minister for Transport
The Deputy Minister of Transport and Member of Parliament for Jomoro, Dorcas Toffey, has commended the management and staff of the Ghana Maritime Authority (GMA) for their hard work and dedication to service.
She made the remarks during a working visit to the Authority as part of her familiarisation tour to learn more about its operations and better understand the challenges it faces in executing its mandate.
Toffey expressed her gratitude for the warm reception extended to her and her team, adding that the detailed presentations by the Director-General and other senior officials had provided her with valuable insights into the Authority’s work and the issues confronting the maritime sector.
The Deputy Minister praised the GMA for its continued commitment to ensuring safety, security, and efficiency in Ghana’s maritime domain.
She encouraged management and staff to maintain their professionalism and dedication, assuring them of her support in working with the Minister of Transport to provide the necessary resources and policy backing for the Authority to perform effectively.
Toffey also commended the collaboration between the Ghana Maritime Authority and the Ghana Maritime University in training students for the maritime industry. She urged both institutions to strengthen their partnership to build greater capacity and enhance skills development within the sector.
