Accra, Dec 31 (JoyOnline) -- Ghana Post will from next year introduce door-to-door postal delivery services on pilot bases.
Managing Director of the Ghana Post Company, Kofi Dua-Adonteng disclosed this to a local radio station, JoyFM, during the company?s annual general meeting in Accra.
He said the company has improved its human resource base to meet the increasing demands of customers for quality postal services.
He gave some details on the door-to-door postal delivery service. Mr Dua-Adonteng said the company is expanding its facilities to include Information Communication Technology (ICT) services to enhance its productivity and ensure that the company becomes the best in postal delivery in Africa in two years.
He said the Company had had a consultative meeting with the Pan African Postal Union to iron out some of the inter-boarder bottlenecks faced by the postal and courier services to ensure effective postal delivery.
He stated that for GP to achieve its goal of becoming the best in Africa, it needed to liaise with its neighbours to ensure efficiency, thus the need to establish an ICT network was very important for effective networking.
Mr Dua-Adonteng also mentioned certain service areas of improvement as the mail and parcel delivery and the "One Stop Shop" concept to assist customers settle all their utility bills.
He said 185 employees of the company were promoted to motivate the staff while others went through further training and capacity building programmes.
