Dr Addai-Mensah Otchere has declined President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s appointment as the Director of the Ghana Standards Authority mynewsgh.com can exclusively report.

This was after a meeting held with the president at the Flagstaff House on Tuesday April 4, 2017.

He has declined further comment on the matter but sources close to him indicate that his decision not to accept the post is borne out of personal reasons best known to him.

The former acting Dean, of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, College of Health Sciences of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) until his appointment he turned down only Today was also the Head of Department of Medical Laboratory Technology, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, and College of Health Sciences of KNUST.

He is credited for contributing to the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) victory in the Ashanti region and regular panelists of political programmes on radio stations in Kumasi.

His appointment according to a letter sighted by mynewsgh.com took effect from March 7, 2017 but in view of his decision, the president is expected to name a replacement in the coming days.
