The Member of Parliament for Abetifi, Bryan Acheampong, has emphasised the crucial role the younger generation can play in shaping Ghana's Artificial Intelligence (AI) future.
Speaking at a public lecture at UniMAC on June 26, 2025, on the theme, "AI Disruptions and Future Work", he stated to the youth that they are the key players in shaping the future through storytelling, coding, design, and advocacy.
"You are the storytellers, coders, designers, campaigners, and watchdogs of our time" he said.
He noted that AI will not only change the tools they use but will fundamentally alter the landscape of their work and competition.
"AI will not just change the tools you use, it will change the terrain on which you compete," he mentioned.
Dr Bryan Acheampong called on the youth to utilise AI's potential for positive change by collaborating, innovating, and using it to promote truth, creativity, and inclusivity.
He stressed the importance of ethics in AI use, particularly in industries like journalism and filmmaking.
The lawmaker and technologist noted that Ghana's AI narrative hinges on their active participation.
He believes that by leveraging AI thoughtfully, Ghana's youth can redefine employability, drive entrepreneurship, and ensure the country's prosperity in the digital age.
