DUBAI, June 30 -- Dubai-based Kampac Oil Company announced Saturday it won a Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) contract of a railway project in the western part of Ghana.
Total cost of the project was estimated of USD 1.6 billion, a Company statement said.
The new line will run from the town of Takoradi to Hamile, while the contract also involves the redevelopment of a line from Takoradi to Kumasi.
Ghanaian Minister of Ports and Railways Christopher Ameyaw Akumfi said that the contract was part of his government's policy of extending railway lines throughout the country.
