The Madina branch of microfinance company Dwadifo Adanfo has resolved to pay its customers following demands for their savings.
The customers, who on Thursday March 3, besieged the office of the company, said they had not been able to access their monies since November 2015 and blamed the Bank of Ghana for allowing the company to operate.
This comes at a time when the Bank of Ghana is yet to resolve the financial scandal involving DKM Diamond Microfinance Company Limited and other sham microfinance clubs, which have swindled hundreds of customers in the Brong Ahafo region.
Meanwhile, Legal Director of Dwadifo Adanfo Microfinance Company, George Ampiah Bonnie, has assured customers that their deposits will be released to them in phases.
“This is an issue of a challenge that has come, and we have gone through it up to this time and we are only praying for them to exercise a bit of patience. We need to do effective debt recovery in order to repay,” he said.
“One may not get in bulk all that they demand, but we will spread their demands over a period of time and we are really going to satisfy everybody out there. We hope by Tuesday (March 8) the Madina branch will be opened like all other branches,” he told Class News.
