The Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah has provided further elucidations on President John Dramani Mahama’s plans for the private sector, disclosing that creating a conducive environment for businesses to thrive is a priority for the government.

According to him, the decision to incentivize businesses in the country is premised on the belief that solving Ghana’s employment challenges hinges largely on a thriving private sector.

Delivering a speech on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama at the Thanksgiving Service of the First Sky Group, Chief of Staff Julius Debrah surmised that the government intends to initiate measures and policies that will enable the private sector to play a frontal role in the implementation of the government’s flagship economic program, which is the twenty-four-hour economy.

He stated that engagements with key stakeholders in the private sector will be held to ensure the successful takeoff and sustainability of the government’s economic initiatives.

"As part of the resetting agenda, we will hold various consultations with businesses across the sector. We will allow various private sector businesses certain concessions to enable their work to flourish and create jobs for people," he said.

Since his appointment as Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah has engaged in a number of activities that are of significant importance to the country.

One such move is the meeting with players in the energy sector to deliberate on tackling the crisis in the sector.
