Ibrahim Mahama highlighted on the critical role of TVET education
Prominent entrepreneur, Ibrahim Mahama has advised the youth, particularly students, to take their education seriously, highlighting that TVET education and skills can play a critical role in boosting their socio-economic fortunes.
He emphasised that TVET students are mostly groomed to be employers, not employees, giving them an advantage over other professions.
Speaking as a Special Guest at the BFW Partner Africa Project and Mentorship session held at the Accra Technical Training Centre (ATTC), the renowned business mogul shared insights into the operational activities of Engineers & Planners.
He also pledged to offer practical training and guidance to many of the students in the mining and construction sectors.
Ibrahim Mahama mentioned the critical role of TVET education in strengthening vocational training skills and enhancing job readiness.
“TVET plays a role in strengthening vocational training and enhancing job readiness, particularly in the construction and mining sectors. TVET can also serve as a major driver of our economy, so it is imperative for policymakers, industry players, and academia to discuss quality TVET education and working conditions of practitioners and students,” Ibrahim Mahama pointed out.
As part of its commitment to enhancing TVET education, the BFW Partner Africa Project has established the annual Ghanaian-German Construction Day program.
This initiative brings together industry players and academia to discuss quality TVET education and working conditions in Ghana's construction sector.
This year's program focuses on the upskilling and reskilling of TVET students in construction, reflecting the project’s ongoing dedication to strengthening vocational training and enhancing job readiness.
