EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY:
APPOINTMENT OF TRADE REPRESENTTIVES (Trs) IN TARGET FOREIGN MARKETS
TERMS OF ENGAGEMENT:
A. CORE FUNCTIONS
i. Assist Ghanaian business operators to promote their products and services as well as to achieve export market penetration.
ii. Provide guidance upon demand to Ghana?s importers of goods and services including machinery, in terms of quality and price competitiveness.
iii. Market Ghana as a viable investment destination and attract Foreign Direct Investment into Ghana.
B. REPORTING & SUPERVISION
iv. TRs will agree on yearly work programmes with MOTI & PSI
v. TRs will submit periodic written reports to MOTI & PSI
vi. The work of TRs will be coordinated by the Director responsible for TRs at MOTI & PSI in Accra.
vii. TRs shall have functional relationships with the Ghana Embassy through the Head of Mission in the country of accreditation.
viii. TRs will visit Ghana at the start of their engagement, and periodically thereafter for orientation and familiarization.
C BASIC QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
i. TRs candidates must show evidence of extensive business contact and networks within the target market.
ii. TRs must have an existing office and administrative machinery.
iii. TRs must demonstrate ability to promote Ghana
iv. TRs must not be engaged in similar positions with any other country.
D. FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS
i. TRs will be paid a flat yearly allowance - negotiable
ii. Cost of agreed visits to Ghana will be borne by MOTI & PSI
iii. TRs shall charge client fees for some specified services rendered, at a rate to be agreed strictly between TR & MOTI & PSI
E. PERIOD OF ENGAGEMENT
i. Formal letter of engagement shall be issued form MOTI & PSI following recruitment exercise.
ii. The period of engagement shall be tow years, with the option of renewal, at the discretion of the Government of Ghana
