Esther Cobbah receives top award

Madam Esther Numaba Cobbah, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Stratcomm Africa, has received the Outstanding Corporate Woman of the year award at the Ghana women awards.

The award was to honour selfless and dedicated services of Ghanaian women in their various fields of endevour.

It was organised by Brein Consult in collaboration with the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection on the theme: “Celebrating womanhood, a key element for national development”.

Madam Cobbah said the recognition of the contributions of women to various spheres of endevour would be an encouragement to all women in Ghana, especially the young ones, adding that, the corporate world is not the preserve of men.

“There is no sphere of human activity in which women cannot excel if we put our God-given talents to use,” she said.

She said, even though Stratcomm Africa started as one an employee company in 1994 working from a study desk, it has through hard work become leader in the communications industry and now boasts of 55 employees providing professional services to many corporate clients, development agencies, governmental and non-governmental institutions.

She promised that Stratcomm Africa would continue to deliver quality service to its numerous clients, adding that, their best years are yet to come.

Nana Oye Lithur, Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection congratulated the award winners, saying that, women have the power to change the lives of people in the positive way.

She, therefore, advised the award winners to mentor other young women and also serve as their role models to enable them succeed.

She also urged other organisations to come up with an award scheme to honour dedicated and selfless services of women who are in the informal sector and are contributing to the development of Ghana.

In all, 20 outstanding women were awarded for excelling in their various fields including ace musician, Akosua Agyapong who received the outstanding Female Entertainer Award.
