Kumasi, May 24, GNA - The Food and Drugs Board (FDB) has lifted the order of closure of Century Investments Limited and Akufric and Trading Enterprises, producers of 'Century Treated Water' and 'Oh Yes Drinking Water' respectively in Kumasi.
This followed the Board's satisfaction with the manufacturing processes, quality and safety of products of the two companies. These were contained in a letter signed by the Chief Executive of the FDB, Mr E.K. Agyarko on May 10, 2004.
It read: "Having satisfied the directive of the board in respect of the documentation of your manufacturing processes, the quality and hence the safety of your products, the board hereby grants the approval to re-start production of sachet water".
It may be recalled that the FDB acting on permission from the Minister of Health, Dr Kwaku Afriyie on March 26, 2004 ordered that the premises and manufacturing facilities of the two companies to remain shut until certified by the board.
The action was to enforce compliance by their owners with the Food and Drugs law that required them to register their products with the board.
