The Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr. Ernest Addison, has explained the details surrounding the building of a new head office.
According to him, the building of the office became necessary as the current building has caught up with the central business district.
This comes at the back of recent claims by the Minority in parliament over the building of a $250 million head office.
He said "In the 1990s, the Bank of Ghana began the search for adequate and secured land for a new Head Office, given that the Central Business District had
caught up with the existing Head Office and the need to expand to meet its
growing operations."
