FULL TEXT: Finance minister presents 2025 Budget and Economic Policy

The Minister of Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, presented the first Budget and Economic Policy of the John Dramani Mahama administration in Parliament on Tuesday, March 11, 2025.

The budget presentation was in line with Article 179 of the 1992 Constitution and Section 21 of the Public Financial Management Act, 2016 (Act 921).

This marks his first budget reading since assuming office, and he provided updates on the country's economic performance, fiscal policies, and adjustments to the main budget for the remainder of the year.

The minister addressed key areas, including economic and fiscal performance for the first half of the year, growth measures, revenue, expenditure performance, financing, and debt sustainability.
