Farmers in seven communities in the Ananekrom electoral area in the Asante Akim North District, whose farms and crops were devastated by the cattle of Fulani herdsmen last year, have had their farms rehabilitated.
Mr Emmanuel Asiedu, a businessman and owner of Kristodea Ventures, who assisted the affected farmers, provided them with farm inputs such as wellington boots, cutlasses, weedicides and pesticides to restore their farms after the invasion by the Fulani herdsmen.
The affected communities were Abrewanko, Baama, Agyanafo, Nsoyameye, Serebuoso, Pewodie and Ananekrom.
Mr Peter Abaje, the Assemblyman for Ananekrom electoral area told the Ghana News Agency that, the support had not only helped revamp the farms, but also helped to increase the yields of the farmers in the area.
He expressed gratitude on behalf of the farmers to the businessman for the timely response to the farmers’ plight.
Mr Abaje called on the District Security Council to help control the activities of the Fulani herdsmen in the Asante Akim Agogo area.
