The Minister of Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, is set to present the Business Statement and Economic Policy of the government for the year ending December 31, 2025, to Parliament on March 11, 2025.
This presentation, which aligns with Article 179 of the 1992 Constitution, was announced on Friday by Deputy Majority Leader, Kweku Ricketts-Hagan, during the Business Statement for the ninth week ending Friday, March 14.
According to the Speaker of Parliament, the Finance Minister, acting on the authority of the President of the Republic, will officially present the Budget Statement and Economic Policy for the year 2025.
He urged Members of Parliament (MPs) to take note of the scheduled date and ensure their presence in the House.
Ahead of the budget presentation, some prominent members of Parliament shared their expectations with the media. Their opinions were diverse, with some anticipating the removal of certain nuisance taxes, including the E-levy, COVID-19 levy, and betting tax, among others.
The government is also urged to make a significant financial allocation to the Gender Ministry to support the successful implementation of the Affirmative Action Gender Equity Act 2024.
