The Minister of Finance, Dr Mohammed Amin Adam, has arrived in parliament for the presentation of the 2024 mid-year budget review statement.
The finance minister, clad in traditional attire – fugu - on trouser with the signature bag of his predecessor, Ken Ofori-Atta.
In a photo captured by GhanaWeb Business, Dr Amin Adam was beaming smiles as he was welcomed to the house by his deputies and others.
The budget presentation is in accordance with Article 179 of the 1992 Constitution and Section 21 of the Public Financial Management Act, 2016 (Act 921).
This budget reading is his first since assuming office in February 2024 and will provide an update on the country's economic performance, fiscal policies, and adjustments to the main budget for the remainder of the year.
The minister is expected to touch on areas including economic and fiscal performance for the first half of the year, growth measures, revenue, expenditure performance, financing, and debt sustainability.
