Mr Philip Yaw Amakye, Managing Director said the bank was licensed by the Bank of Ghana under the PNDC law 328 (1993) which mandated it to operate as a business company. He said since it started operating in 1996, the bank had opened branches in Accra, Kumasi, Nkawkaw, Obuasi and Mpraeso and that it intended to open another branch at Berekum. Mr Amakye said the bank employed workers from the areas they operated so as to minimize the rate of unemployment among the youth in those areas. The Nkoranza branch of the bank opened its first account for Nana Yaa Dudaa Kani, Queen mother of Nkoranza who cut the tape to commence the operations of the bank. Nana Yaa Dudaa Kani advised the Traditional Council to patronize the activities of the bank to enhance their living conditions. 16 Oct. 08
