The maiden edition of the 40 under 40 Awards, the latest initiative of Xodus Communications to celebrate young entrepreneurs and CEOs in Ghana, will be held on the 29th of September 2017 at the Kempinski Gold Coast City.

Chief Executive Officer of Xodus Communications, Richard Abbey Jnr. says the scheme is to celebrate “40 Ghanaians under age 40 in 40 different industries” as this will encourage them to do more.

He said, “if this country is going to have a number of people who will not be dependent on government, which has been the case that when you finish a degree, you must also be looking for job and be looking for government to support, even though government is the largest employer, we can create a lot of the under 40s who can employ others as well”.

According to Mr. Abbey, the nominations will be handed over to Ernst & Young for validation and then the Awards board, headed by Prof David Arthur Peters will do the shortlisting. The public will have the opportunity to help decide the winners for categories that turn out to be very competitive.

He stated that “we do not compromise on credibility and integrity so we have maintained the standard where we have had partners that do validation and you can’t doubt their credentials.”

The forty categories to be awarded include Banking and Finance, Health and Wellness, Human Resource and Development, Education, Insurance, Investment and Pensions, Law, Government and Government Agencies, Manufacturing Logistics and Supplies, Real Estate and Development.
