Mr Akilu Sayibu, a Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), has asked Foreign Service Officers (FSOs) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, to serve as the eyes and ears of Ghana in terms of export promotion.

Mr Sayibu made the call in a lecture on: "Commercial Representation Abroad," to 37 Foreign Service Officers of the Ministry, who are proceeding on postings to various countries worldwide.

He called on the FSOs to be in a position to guide and educate exporters on the various trade regulations, culture and barriers in their host countries in order to save potential exporters from falling foul of the law.

He urged the FSOs to be involved in export trade negotiations with exporters from Ghana who want to deal with new partners abroad.

The FSOs said they were pleased about the lecture, describing it as educative.

They said there were suggestions that could enhance the relationship between the Ministry and the GEPA.
