Freight Forwarders in Tema have kicked against the commencement of the Paperless Port on September 1.

According to them, although they are not against the paperless Port initiative, more education needs to be done before commencement since it will create confusion at the Port.

Speaking to journalist at the long room of the Customs Division, the freight forwarders wore red bands agitating that the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority, GPHA has not been up to the task.

A Spokesperson for the Freight Forwarders, Mawuli Tettey said as December which is the business peak time at the Port is approaching the implementation of the paperless Port will make matters worse.

Another Freight Forwarder, Paul Gborson said the Paperless Port cannot stop corruption at the Port as perceived.
