Tamale (Northern Region), Oct. 29 Fuji Oil Company Limited of Japan has expressed interest in purchasing Ghana's sheabutter due to its high quality. Mr Norio Maniguchi, quality control manager of the oils and fats production department of the company, made this known in Tamale after leading a four-man team to visit Kassardjan Industries in Tamale. The company exports between 400 and 500 tonnes of sheabutter to Japan annually. Mr Maniguchi said the company which buys sheabutter from other West African countries has shifted its focus to Ghana because ''of the up-to-date technology being used to produce the butter''. He said Fuji Oil Company will exchange expertise with Kassardjan Industries to enhance sheabutter production. Nana Asante Yeboah, Tamale Manager of Kassardjan, said his company is to increase its monthly production to about 600 tonnes to meet export demands.
