The Ghana Commercial Bank Limited (GCB) has donated an amount of GH¢50,000.00 towards the 15th anniversary commemoration of the enstoolment of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and his initiatives in education.
In line with its social responsibility to promote tradition and culture in the country, GCB has contributed to support the anniversary, Dr Fritz Gockel, GCB Board Chairman, said in a statement copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Friday.
Dr Gockel who led GCB delegation to the Manhyia Palace for the presentation, said the gesture is in recognition of Asantehene’s injection of dynamism into the chieftaincy institution and his commitment to the provision of quality education.
He expressed the conviction that the development initiatives of the Asantehene would help accelerate the development of the country.
Other members of the delegation were Mr Simon Dornoo, the Managing Director, Mrs Adelaide Benneh, Board Member, Mr Lovelace Prempeh, former Board member, Mr Samuel Sarpong, Chief Transformation Officer, Mrs Thyra Obuobi, Head of Corporate Affairs Department, and Mr George Arkorful, Kumasi Area Manager.
Ghana Commercial Bank has 22 branches in the Ashanti Region, providing opportunities for investment and job creation. Otumfuo Osei Tutu ascended the Golden Stool on April 26, 1999.
