GCB opens new branch at Walewale

Walewale (NR), Aug. 20, GNA - The Ghana Commercial Bank Limited (GCB) on Wednesday opened a new branch at Walewale in the West Mamprusi District to enhance the promotion of business in the area. The new bank brings to 142 the number of GCB branches in the country and 15 in the three Northern Regions. It is expected that the Walewale branch would save GCB customers in the area the travel time to Tamale or Bolgatanga to transact business with the bank.

Mr Ernest Kanton, Deputy General Manager, Retail Banking Division of the GCB, who cut the tape to officially open the branch, advised the public to cultivate the habit of saving to benefit from credit facilities of the bank. He said the GCB had introduced facilities such as the "Express Fund", "Kudi Nkosuo", "Smart Pay", "Internet Banking" and "Inland Money Transfer" and advised customers of the bank to make good use of them to promote their businesses. The bank, he said, had undergone a lot of transformation and assured customers of fast and reliable services and appealed to the public to save with the GCB.

Mr Seth Kunutsor, the Tamale Area Manager of the GCB, advised the business community to patronise the bank's Express Fund system to transact business to ensure safety of their monies from armed robbers. He said the recent reforms in the banking sector were meant to bring competition among the various banks to promote improved and better services and assured rural women of the bank's credit facilities to improve their living conditions. Mr Issah Musah, the District Coordinating Director, advised management of the bank to cooperate with the West Mamprusi Community Bank at Walewale to ensure a healthy business environment.
