Takoradi, Nov 12, GNA - The Ghana Cement Works (GHACEM) invested 602,629 dollars in equipment to reduce the negative environmental impact of its operations from 1995 to 2000.
Mr Seidu Bayo, the Senior Operations Manager of GHACEM, said this when briefing journalists who toured the Takoradi factory of the company on Thursday.
The tour was organised by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as part of the activities marking its 30th anniversary. Mr Bayo said the company saves 143,000 dollars every year due to reduction in spillage as a result of these investments.
