GN Bank opens branch at Aflao

Groupe Nduom (GN) Bank on Thursday opened a new branch at Aflao in the Ketu South District of the Volta Region.

The Aflao branch brings to 178, branches of the bank across the country in 180 different locations and said to be the widest spread retail bank in the country.

Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom, President of the Bank said the opening of a branch at Aflao was to bring made in Ghana products and services to clients in that part of the country and create jobs for the locals.

“The bank is for Ghanaians. We believe in Ghana and our systems and committed to invest in our country to rescue our currency,” he said.

Dr Nduom said GN Bank is collaborating with First National Bank in the Republic of Togo to lessen challenges of carrying money across the border and urged the business community to take advantage of the collaboration.

Mr Patrick Anumel, Chief Executive of GN Bank said opening of Aflao branch was a dream come true to provide close-to-client banking services to the people.

He introduced some products of the bank to the gathering including a GH?1,000 life insurance cover package for all savings accounts, which also attracts nine per cent interest per annum.

Mr Anumel said the bank also operates money transfer services and e-banking among others.

Togbe Fiti Amenya V, Paramount Chief of Aflao, area said it is unfortunate that foreign banks dominate the country and pledged support for GN Bank in Aflao.

He asked Groupe Nduom to consider the establishment of a branch of Coconut Groove Hotels in Aflao to boost tourism and pledged to release plots of land for the project.
