GN Media, a subsidiary of Groupe Ndoum on Thursday December 21, 2017 held a short ceremony to mark the rebirth of two of its television stations.
The two stations, Amasan TV (ATV) and Business Television Africa (BTA) have been operating in makeshift studios since fire engulfed their original studios at the Coconut Grove Regency Hotel in April this year.
The event was to officially unveil their newly built studios located at Asylum Down in Accra and also to mark their return onto the Digital Terrestrial platform.
The General Manager GN Television, Albert Don Chebe in his opening address, recounted the incident that led to their evacuation from their studios and also highlighted some of the new programs on the TV stations owned by GN Media.
“I’m delighted to welcome you all to the new home of Amasan Television and Business Television Africa. These two channels are among the most popular in the GN chain of TV channels. About nine months we were jolted by news that the studios of BTA and ATV were in flames. Many of us rushed to the scene but could only watch helplessly as the comedy of errors which represented firefighting unfolded. Six hours after the destructive fire we were able to restore transmission by relocating to our other buildings in Asylum down. A few days later, work to refurbish this building and relocate ATV and BTA began. Today we are gathered here to commission the new offices of ATV and BTA”, he said.
Amasan Television which broadcasts in seven local languages will be running programs such as Anopa Bosuo, Ghana Great and Strong and Sika Sem while Business Television Africa focuses on business related programs like Business Day, The CEO’s Chair and Africa Business News.
