GNPC tour Foundation’s Project

Dr. Dominic Eduah, Executive Director of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) Foundation, has inspected some of the foundation’s projects in the Western Region Zone One.

The inspection was to monitor the progress of work on the various projects and to assure stakeholders of the Foundation’s commitment to the timely completion of the projects.

Dr. Eduah together with Ms. Patience Lartey, Foundation’s Head of Environment and Social Amenities, Mr. Moses Antwi Benefo, Media and PR, as well as the project consultant made a first stop at the Bompeh Senior High School on the old Axim Road, Takoradi, where a 24-unit sanitary facility was being constructed for the school.

Speaking at the school, Dr. Eduah noted that, the Foundation had its focus on impacting lives by building facilities for the needy, adding that the inspection was to check on the progress of the project and was happy with the quality of work.

Mrs. Dorcas Ansah, headmistress for the school thanked GNPC Foundation for making good on their promise to help the school.

“We are grateful and relieved that this project is going on smoothly, your presence here is an indication of your commitment to seeing it through to the end, and we look forward to having a well-equipped sanitary facility that can accommodate all our students”.

At the Assakae Market in Effia-Kweimintsim Municipality, where the Mr. Kojo Acquah, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the area, expressed his gratitude to the Foundation for taking the initiative to provide the facility for the market, that had been in dire need.

Mr. Christian Djokoto, headmaster for the Methodist Senior High School at Kansawrodo, where a six-unit classroom block was being built said, “the project was a divine intervention, especially with the commencement of the double track system”.

The next stop of the inspection tour was at the Nana Katabra ‘A’ Basic School in Kojokrom where an eight-unit sanitary facility is being built, with a follow up visit to the Sekondi-Takoradi School for the Deaf at Inchaban, where a 160-bed capacity hostel, with ancillary facilities, was being completed, as well as a s-unit classroom block at Sekondi College in Sekondi.

The next stop of the inspection was at the Western Region House of Chiefs in Sekondi, where several projects had been completed including, a guest facility of eight apartments, all with two bedrooms, as well as a state-of-the-art administration office with a library and a computer lab complex awaits commission.

The last stop was at Efia Kuma Police Park at Sekondi, where the traditional pitch is being transformed into an ultra-modern artificial turf.

After the inspection tour, Dr. Eduah expressed satisfaction with the progress of work on the projects and stressed the need for their timely completion.

The Foundation operates under three-key pillars being Environment and Social Amenities, Economic Empowerment and Education and Training, where under the Environment and Social Amenities alone which the sanitary facility falls, the Foundation has over 70 projects ongoing nationwide.
