Bunso (E/R), July 31, GNA - The Ghana Oil Company Limited (GOIL), has inaugurated a new fuel service station at Bunso in the East Akyem Municipality of the Eastern Region to provide convenient services to clients.
The station located near Linda Dor, a popular rest stop for motorists and commuters on the Accra-Kumasi road, comes with a Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) Filling Plant and other modern facilities including enhanced fuel products such as Diesel XP and Super XP.
This brings to 160 the number of GOIL Service Stations across the country.
Mr Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, Eastern Regional Minister, assisted by Professor William Afiakwa Asomaning, Board Chairman of GOIL, inaugurated the station on Friday.
Professor Asomaning said the inauguration of the new station was a testament to GOIL's goal of ensuring utmost customer satisfaction as well as reaching out to all of its clients across the country.
He said GOIL had begun implementing a strategy to ensure the provision of modern facilities at all its service stations across the country to serve customers under convenient conditions.
He assured customers of better services as it (GOIL) began implementing measures to change the face of the company.
Mr Ofosu Ampofo assured management of GOIL that he would detail security personnel to provide adequate security for the station to enable it to operate on 24-hour basis.
He observed that the area was fast-developing and urged the East Akyem Municipality to uphold building regulations to avoid haphazard development of structures, which might lead to environmental catastrophe.
He commended management and staff of GOIL for their efforts to restructure and reposition the company as a preferred filling station for clients.
Mr Yaw Agyeman Duah, Managing Director of GOIL, said the station was important to the company because of its location and assured customers that their expectations would be met.
Mr Duah thanked the landlords and residents of the area for allowing GOIL to open up the station.
Mrs Doris Belinda Arkorful, Manageress of GOIL Bunso Service Station said apart from servicing the customers, it would also provide jobs for the youth in the area.
Mrs Arkorful appealed to government to grant tax exemption to local entrepreneurs to enable them to expand their businesses and create more jobs.
