The Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority has advised the general public to disregard any information and adverts circulating on social media that purports to be recruiting persons for job employment and national service placement for GPHA.

According to the Deputy Manager, Marketing and Corporate Affairs of GPHA, Nana Esi Soderberg, the Port Authority’s attention has been drawn to the activities of some unscrupulous persons engaged in recruitment and national service placement scam using the name of the Port Authority.

“Some of these adverts circulating on one of the social media platforms was brought to our attention. We checked and immediately realised that it was one of these job recruitment scams. We are using this platform to caution and advise the general public to disregard these adverts or not take them at face value,” she advised.

She has, therefore, entreated the general public to always verify such information from the Port Authority in order not to fall victims to such scams.

“If any member of the public views some of these ads they can make enquiries directly from us using our e-mail address: headquarters@ghanaports.net. They can also get one of our customer services officers on 0570611691,” she said.

She cautioned persons engaged in the scams using the Port Authority to desist from that criminal act or face the full rigors of the law.

“It is important to note that documentation fraud or fraud of any kind for that matter is an offence and when apprehended by us those people will be handed over to the police,” she warned.
