The Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has granted a two-month amnesty to users of vehicles that have not gone through the customs processes to allow for the necessary documentation to be completed.
In a statement, the authority said that it will embark on a national inspection of the roads to deal with users of uncustomed vehicles who fail to take advantage of the amnesty when the time elapses.
“All users of uncustomed vehicles are encouraged to take advantage of this window and regularize the documentation of vehicles that have been illegally imported into the country.
“The general public should note that after 1st October 2024, the Customs Division will undertake a nationwide unannounced inspection of vehicles on the roads and impound all uncustomed vehicles,” the release warned.
The two-month grace period started on 1st August 2024 and will end on 30th September 2024.
