GSE All-Share Index continues rise

Accra, Jan. 25, GNA - The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) All-Share Index, main market indicator, on Friday rose 9.32 points to close trading at 6,715.44 points.

The Index which had maintained a steady increase since Monday's opening rose again from 6,706.12 points on Thursday to 6,715.44 points on the back of four equities including SIC Insurance Company which listed and commenced trading today.

Total shares traded however fell from 3,455,600 shares at the previous session to 810,600 shares on Friday with CAL Bank Limited selling highest of 762,500 shares.

Change year to date now stood at 1.75 per cent.

Of the four positive price changes recorded, CAL Bank Limited made the highest of 0.0052 GH cedis to close at 0.5052 GH cedis, Ecobank Ghana Limited went up by 0.0003 GH cedis at 2.1733 GH cedis, SIC Insurance Company made 0.0002 GH cedis to close 0.3252 GH cedis and Fan Milk Ghana Limited was richer by 0.0001 GH cedis at 2.6627 GH cedis.

Market capitalisation went up marginally to GH=A2 12,510.81 from GH=A2 12,509.94 on Thursday.
