GSE index falls in moderate trading

Accra, Dec. 5, GNA - The GSE All-Share Index, the benchmark indicator of the Accra Bourse, dropped 5.86 points in moderate trading that saw traded shares slump once again.

The index closed lower at 6,411.80 points from 6,417.66 points. Shares that changed hands fell from over five million on Tuesday to 216,700 shares.

Change year to date now stands at 28.08 per cent. On the broader market there were nine price changes - eight positive and a negative.

The eight gainers are SG-SSB, which appreciated by 0.0001 GH cedis to close at 1.2201 GH cedis; Ghana Oil Company was richer by 0.0011 GH cedis to close at 0.2611 GH Cedis; Ecobank Ghana Limited was 0.0004 GH Cedis better to close at 1.6825 GH cedis; CAL Bank made 0.0001 GH Cedis to close at 0.4206 GH cedis; Ghana Commercial Bank gained 0.0002 GH cedis to close at 0.9712 GH cedis.

Others are Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited gained 0.0001 GH cedis to close at 1.2156 GH cedis; Total went up by 0.0001 at 5.4906 GH cedis and Unilever which gained 0.0001 GH Cedis at 2.1005 GH cedis. The only loser was HFC Bank, which lost 0.0399 GH Cedis at 0.4999 GH Cedis.

Market capitalisation dropped marginally to 12,242.66 million GH Cedis from 12,246.25 million GH cedis.
