GSE index slips on Aluworks loss

Accra, July 2, GNA - The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) on Friday saw one of its poorest sessions with only 19,900 shares changing hands compared to the 525,900 shares during Wednesday's trading.

The GSE All-Share Index, the main market indicator, slipped down by 0.11 points from 7,045.40 points to 7,045.29 on a loss by Aluworks with the change for the year remaining static at 98.27 points. There were four price changes on the broader market, one down and three up.

Aluworks lost 100 cedis at 12,200 cedis, Unilever was up 60 cedis at 22,660 cedis, Fan Milk Limited was up one cedi at 7,811 cedis and Guinness Ghana Limited was also better by one cedi at 12,501 cedis. Market capitalization ended lower at 96,959.43 billion cedis from 3,359.67 million issued shares compared to the 96,959.71 billion cedis recorded during Wednesday trading.
