Akyem Oda, March 18, GNA-Ghana Telecom (GT) has appealed to its customers to pay their bills promptly to enable it to expand and to introduce new innovative products. Mr. Selorm Fiador, Chief Manager GT made the appeal at a meeting with its customers at Akyem Oda on Thursday aimed at addressing their concerns and to take suggestions from them on how to improve services. He advised customers who were finding it difficult to settle their bills not to hesitate to call at GT offices and to negotiate on how to settle the arrears if possible by instalments.

Mr Fiador told the customers that maintenance of their lines was free of charge and advised them not to fall on middlemen whenever they wanted to deal with the company. He assured people at Akyem Oda and its environs that GT was in the process of increasing its coverage in the area by the middle of next month.

Mr Emmanuel G. Dziko, General Manager/Strategy and Business Development said GT had initiated improvements in the area of technical operation adding "we have replaced many of the switches and it is left with only a few". He said to prevent the collapse of communication centres the company had designed and develop the easy phone maxi card to prevent sales girls and sales men from cheating their employers. During an open forum, the customers complained about high telephone bills being sent to them of late especially last year's November bills and appealed to the company to check their billing system.
