Tarkwa (W/R) May 11, GNA - Ghana Telecom (GT) has launched a new service product named eazyfone prepaid telephony at Tarkwa yesterday. The service is in two parts, the one which is targeted at the single residential line market and "eazyfone maxi prepaid" which is packaged for communication or business centres.
The service is an alternative to post-paid service.
Launching the product Mr. Solomon Amoah, a former District Chief Executive for Wassa West District, said the government was encouraging private sector initiative and the success of government effort would depend on customers ability to patronize GT's products. Mr Joseph Wereko, General Manager, Marketing and Communication of GT, said in its bid to find a lasting solution to numerous complaints by customers an advanced intelligence network system was launched in October last year to curtail the problem of itemised billing. He said a lot of the complaints from customers emanated from the itemized bills putting the blame on GT staff, which he claimed, were not true.
Mr Wereko admitted that the bills were sent to customers after a month or two but with the prepaid phone the problem of billing has come to an end and requested all customers who have left GT to come back. He said the residential lines has a lot of benefits including giving direct access for reloading one's account and also for checking one's balance.
