Accra, Nov. 22, GNA -Ghana Trade Fair Company Limited (GTFCL) on Mon= day asked prospective exhibitors to desist from transacting business with Pan=

African Trade Fair since it had not entered into any agreement to hold an= y fair at the centre.

"We wish to declare that all advertisements and publicity aired on television, radio and in the newspapers about any fair apart from Entrafa= ir 2010 is false and deceitful to the public", Nana Ofori Amanfo, Solicitor Secretary of GTFCL, announced at a press conference in Accra. He said there was no documentary evidence that management of Pan Africa Trade Fair had paid any commitment fee to hold their fair at the premises. Nana Amanfo said management of GTFCL on July 14 this year, agreed a= nd signed a memorandum of understanding with the management of Prime Creatio= ns to hold an entertainment fair from December 15 to January 3, 2011.

"We wish to notify the management of Pan African Trade Fair that the=

related activities: exhibition, car market, food fair, pre-x'mas sales, children's park, street performances and all the music shows and carnival= s happening at the GTFCL from the December 14, 2010 to January 3, 2011 are solely under the management of Prime Creations and the GTFCL". "The managements of Prime Creations and GTFCL have no connection, partnership or associations with any other fair taking place at the centr= e from the dates stated, apart from Entrafair 2010", he said. Entrafair, an acronym of Entertainment Trade Fair offers exhibitors including car dealers, food manufacturers and vendors to showcase their products. Nana Amanfo recalled that management of Pan Africa Trade Fair in 200= 9 approached management of GTFCL to hold Entrafair in September this year, and offered them an office to operate at the centre. "As at September 1, 2010, management of Pan Africa Trade Fair had no= t paid any commitment fee to the management of GTFCL", he added. He said management of Pan Africa Trade fair postponed their fair to December 2010 but management of GTFCL informed them that there was anothe= r programme that had been slated during the same period therefore could not=

organise their programme or re-scheduled theirs after next year. Nana Amanfo said management of GTFCL was surprised that management o= f Pan Africa advertised the fair in the media asking prospective exhibitors= to register with them when they had not entered into any agreement with the management of GTFCL. He said following their conduct, the Chief Executive Officer of Pan=

Africa Trade Fair, had been informed to vacate their premises but had fai= led to comply. Nana Amanfo said it had offered management of Pan Africa Trade Fair=

enough time to quit their premises adding "the management of GTFCL is now=

compelled to take legal action". Meanwhile, Mrs Lydia Yahaya, CEO of Pan Africa Trade Fair, when contacted said the second Pan Africa Trade Fair launched in November, thi= s year, "will surely take off". However, she admitted that her company had not paid any commitment=

fee nor entered into agreement with the management of GTFCL in connection=

with the up-coming Entrafair. 22 Nov. 10
