Geoquaye Ltd makes strides in Ghana

Geoquaye Company Limited, a Kumasi based Electrical and Mechanical Company with specialisation in the supply and service of Plants, Generators and other electrical equipment to companies in the oil and gas, mining as well as telecommunication industries has expressed its readiness to position itself to meet international standards and cache in on business opportunities.

The move targets the provision of quality services as well as affordable prices to its clients across the country.

The Director of Geoquaye Company Limited, Mr George Neequaye Amon, made these observations in an exclusive interview with this reporter last week in Kumasi the Ashanti regional capital.

According to him, his company is poised to adopt strategies that would enable it set the pace which would ensure that Geoquaye becomes the number one leader in the Ghanaian market with reference to the electrical and mechanical area. He also hinted that plans are far advanced to initiate measures that would help to promote the company as well as build its clientele base from its current stage to a well deserving one. This, he expressed with optimism, would be achieved through the company’s dedicated and hardworking staff.

The Government of Ghana was called upon to as a matter of urgency consider laying down strategies that would help to create more business opportunities for local companies that ply their trade in all sectors of the economy. He believed that this will go a long way to expose and strengthen local companies to excel and continue to contribute immensely help boost the economy of the country. Mr Neequaye who also doubles as the Chief Technical Officer of the same company called on government to invest in individuals who are noted to be talented adding that it was an ingenious avenue for creating more job opportunities for the large unemployed youth in the country. Giving an account of the recent Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) which was held in Houston, Texas in the United States of America where his company had the chance to participate under the joint supervision of the Commercial Service Department of the United States of America’s Embassy in Accra and the Government of Ghana through the Ministry of Energy, he expressed satisfaction with the exercise saying it was very educative and worth attending.

“My company since its establishment in September 1996 and registered as a limited liability company achieved its goal of initiating and securing business partnership for the supply and sale of our products by getting the opportunity to meet different investors who have expressed their readiness to partner with us for big investment projects in the country,” he noted.

He commended the organizers of this year’s Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) especially the Ghanaian coordinators for their effort to make the trip a successful one. Touching on the absence of a stand to showcase Ghana’s oil to the rest of the world, the director of the Kumasi based electric company called on the government and its various partners to consider putting in place plans that will promote Ghana’s Oil and Gas sector in future events. He added that his company as part of its contribution to the society recently donated some items worth thousands of Ghana cedis to the Kumasi Children’s Home, changed all the chalk boards of the Kwame Nkrumah University Primary School as well as trained a lot of individuals who had no electrical background.
