GhIPSS lauds The Seed Funds over its ‘TSF Card’

The launch of the ‘TSF Card’ by The Seed Funds (TSF) Savings and Loans Company has been welcomed by the Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement Systems Limited (GhIPSS)as a positive development that would bring convenience among other benefits to customers of that company.

According to GhIPSS, “their customers now have access to ATMs of other banks both commercial and savings & loans companies on the gh-link platform) which gives them a wide access compared with Visa & Mastercard while the cost of transaction using gh-link is cheaper.”

It explained that The Seed Funds now has connected its systems to the national switch, gh-link which is hosted by GhIPSS.

“This means that their bank customers can use their cards on other banks ATM and their cards can also be accepted on the gh-link hybrid point of sale terminal at merchant locations.

TSF recently launched its Automated Teller Machine card christened ‘TSF Card ‘to afford customers the luxury of accessing their funds with all ease.

Management of the company said the product is targeted at customers of the company, “as part of efforts aimed at increasingly providing better services to our customers.”

The card would be operated via the GH-Link platform and so can be operated across all financial institutions linked to that platform in the country.

“The introduction of the ‘TSF Card’, a Gh-link compliant card, is timely since it complements the recent campaign towards financial inclusion and promoting a cashless society; the ‘TSF card’ is aimed at roping in the unbanked segment of the market, “management of TSF state.

Gh-link is a national ATM card in Ghana that enables users to use the same card at different bank ATM points. The service launched by the Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement Systems (GhIPSS) in November 2012 interconnects banks in the country.

Head of E-banking at TSF, Ms Lauretta Naa Dedei Addico, explained that the unique benefits of the card included security of customer’s funds, convenience of service and safety of both customer and his or her accounts.

“The TSF Card allows customers to access instant cash withdrawals 24/7, provides safety for customers as against carrying large amount of cash around and further enables customer access to over 1,000 ATMs across the nation,” she elaborated. Customers would be able to access their funds across over 2,500 hybrid Point of Sale Devices (POS).

For his part, the Managing Director of the Seed Funds Savings and Loans, Mr Albert Mmegwa, said the institution is very elated for its introduction of the ‘TSF Card’ which will meet the needs of its customers.
