Olam Ghana, a leading supply chain manager of agri-products and one of Ghana’s biggest cocoa buying agencies, has been adjudged as the best company in the Agriculture and Agribusiness sector for 2017 at the 17th Ghana Club 100 Awards organised by the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre.

The Ghana Club 100 (GC100) is an annual official list of the top 100 companies in Ghana as compiled by the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) since 1998.

The rankings are done with the aim of recognising the top 100 best performing companies as a way of encouraging competition and improving standards and the quality of products and services in the country.

Olam, a new entrant in the company rankings, has been listed as the seventh (7th) overall best performing company in Ghana and was additionally decorated with the Best New Entrant Award, for being the best performing company among twenty new entrants admitted into the club.

Established in 1994, Olam Ghana is today one of the country’s leading agri-commodity and packaged food companies.

The company ranks among the largest private Licensed Buying Companies (LBCs) in Ghana’s Cocoa sector and manufactures three distinct cocoa liquor recipes at its fully automated processing plant.

Olam Ghana is also the country’s leading cashew exporter and one of its largest importers and distributors of rice.

“We are honoured and highly motivated by this award which affirms our contribution to the development effort of the country through our deeply entrenched operations in Ghana,” said Mr. Amit Agrawal, Country Head and Chief Executive Officer of Olam Ghana, when he received the GL100 Awards.

“As a business, we remain relentless in our commitment to Growing Responsibly and enriching livelihoods. It is not only a deserving honour but a challenge to perform even better and maintain our high standards in the industry,” Mr. Agrawal said.
