Ghana Commerbank starts networking of branches

Accra, (Greater Accra) 22 July '99,

The Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) is networking its branches to facilitate easy access to money by its customers.

The exercise, which will initially cover Greater Accra region and Ashanti region, is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

A source at the Liberty Avenue and High Street branches in Accra, told the GNA that the networking is underway.

However, software problems have slowed down the progress of work, according to the source. This has led to long queues at some of the branches and customers say the networking was taking too long.

A source at the bank's head office, will neither confirm nor deny that there are problems.
