Ghana Heavy Equipment Limited Board Inaugurated

A seven member Board of the Ghana Heavy Equipment Limited (GHEL) has been inaugurated in Accra on Friday by Dr Spio Gabrah, the Minister of Trade and Industry.

The Board members under the chairmanship of Mr Kojo Twum Boafo, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Board took the oath of office and secrecy administered by the Minister.

Dr Gabrah commended the Board members for their appointment and urged them to work hard by expanding its area of specialisation and generating more revenues to the state.

He said there is the need for the Board to partner with members of the business community especially the Association of Ghana Industries to provide servicing works of its machinery and equipment.

Mr Twum Boafo, the Chairman of the Board said the GHEL has a lot of potential and members would work hard to move it forward.

He said the GHEL would be providing lucrative servicing works to the various industries as well as those in the West Africa sub region.

He thanked the Minister for their appointments, saying that, the members would work to achieve set targets.

Mr Yidana Mahami, the Chief Executive Officer of GHEL, said the GHEL is already supporting many industries in the country, especially the construction, mining and the agric industry, by providing them with heavy equipment and servicing works.

He gave the assurance that the GHEL would continue to explore for more business avenues as a way of expanding its operations and generating more revenue to the state.

The Board members are Mr Kojo Twum Boafo, Ms Anisah-Ishmail Rashid, Mrs Monica Asare and Mr Dawarnoba Baeka.

The rest are Mr Kofi Amenya, Ms Stella Ansah and Mr Yidana Mahami.
