GHANA’S Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Ms. Gloria Akuffo, yesterday held bilateral talks with her Kenyan counterpart, Mr. Githu Muigai, at the United Nations headquarters, New York.
The meeting, held on the sidelines of the on-going 27th meeting of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, centred on how the two brotherly countries can share ideas and experiences for their mutual benefit.
They also touched on an intended visit by a Kenyan legal delegation to Ghana, to understudy the latter’s legal system and how it operates.
The two Attorney-Generals also touched on the Convention and how their countries can benefit from the fruitful exchanges and experiences being shared, among others.
Present at the meeting were: the Solicitor General, Mrs. Helen Ziwu, a Chief State Attorney, Mrs Stella Badu, and Mrs. Audrey Abayena, acting Director, Legal, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration.
On the Kenya side was Ms. Koki Muki Grignon, Ambassador and Deputy Permanent Representative of the Kenyan Mission to the UN.
