Ghana Reinsurance honours SIC Insurance

The Ghana Reinsurance Company Limited has honoured SIC Insurance Company for their immense contribution in the Insurance industry at its 6th Cedants’ award night which was held last Friday at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra.

SIC Insurance Company Limited was adjudged ‘Cedant of the year’ in the General business category for the year 2014 under review

The Ghana Reinsurance Awards ceremony, “Cedants’ Awards Night” was established six years ago, to show appreciation to the local insurance companies for their diligent efforts, loyalty and support for Ghana Re and the industry as a whole.

Held under the theme: “Insurance – A tool for national development” the occasion was used to recognise and reward companies which made notable contributions in the 2014 financial year’s performance towards the growth and profitability of the Company.

Guest Speaker was Dr. Joyce Aryee, former Chief Executive Officer, Ghana Chamber of Mines and Chairman for the event was Hon. Mike Hammer, Chairman of the Board of Directors for SIC Insurance Co. Ltd. Also in Attendance was Mr. Simon Davor, Deputy Commissioner of Insurance, who represented the Commissioner of Insurance, Ms. Lydia Bawa.

Present to receive the award on behalf of SIC Insurance was the Acting Managing Director of the Company, Mr. Kwei Mensah Ashidam who in an acceptance speech paid glowing tribute to the organizers for recognizing efforts of hard working companies in the industry

He dedicated the award to their cherished clients and customers for supporting the company’s growth

Other companies that received award on the night included Metropolitan Insurance Company Ltd, Ghana Union Assurance Life Company and J.B Boda Reinsurance Brokers Pvt. Ltd
