The Ghana Shippers’ Authority has organised a bidder’s conference for six companies that have been shortlisted out of the initial 29 who expressed interest to invest in the Boankra Inland Port Project near Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
This very important infrastructure would link the ports of Tema and Takoradi to the inner parts of the country and the landlocked countries of Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger. The facility is expected to be a free port that would combine unimodal and inter-modal operations aimed at facilitating the transit trade.

Titus-Glover also outlined some benefits of the boankra inland project when completed which included opening the country up for business.
