Ghana-South Korea trade ideas on economies

Korea Knowledge Sharing Programme, a programme that provided platform for a comprehensive policy advice to governments of both Ghana and South Korea, ended in Accra on Thursday.

It shared best practices in the economies of the two countries.

Participants gained insight and understanding of South Korea's development expertise module and how it could be applied to the Ghanaian reality.

Among other topics, the knowledge-sharing exercise discussed the S. Korean experience to help Ghana explore her own solutions relating to revitalizing small and medium scale enterprises (SMEs) while building capacity in the implementation of the national policy on Public Private Partnerships (PPP).

Project Manager of the Korean Knowledge Sharing Program, Dongsung Kong, said Ghana had a huge development potential which could effectively be harnessed by investing massively in its human resource.

Executive Director of the National Board for Small Scale Industries, Lukman Abdul-Rahim, was worried the sector continued to face major challenges with funding.

He believes government policies could help alleviate the difficulties of Ghana's SMEs.
