Professor Alex Dodoo, the Director-General of the Ghana Standard Authority (GSA), has said the authority is currently under-resourced.
He said the GSA does not have enough equipment to carry out its operations, adding that the authority does not also have enough human resource.
This situation, he said, is negatively affecting the work of the GSA.
Prof Dodo told Accra-based Metro TV that at the moment the GSA has less than one thousand (1000) workers, a figure that in his view, is low considering the volume of work done at the authority.
“We need more human resources,” he said.
He added : “We also need more equipment, most of our equipment are obsolete and we will need new ones.”
Prof Dodoo however said the government has been supporting the GSA but the authority will need more of such supports to carry out its work.
“I will say that government is supporting,” he said.
