The 22nd International Trade Fair promises to be industrious and exciting with lots of fun packages for patrons and exhibitors alike, this is according to CEO of the Ghana International Trade Fair Center, Dr. Agnes Adu.
Speaking to Ghanaweb ahead of the fair slated for February 28, Dr. Adu indicated that massive preparations are underway to ensure a smooth run of the event.
According to her, this year’s fair themed, “Industrialising Ghana and creating jobs” will create a platform for government’s agenda; 1-District-1-Factory to be realized by bringing on board potential businesses identified by District Chief executives (DCEs) in all 216 districts nationwide under the 1-D-1-F program to exhibit their products and connect with global partners.
“In addition to inviting the normal exhibitors that come to a trade fair, we are also going to have all the districts, headed by the District Chief Executives bring on board the potentials that government has identified in those districts under the 1-D-1-F program and we will exhibit that so that we can link and network that program to the international partners or local partners interested in getting involved in that program,” she said.
Patrons also get to experience a lot of fun at this year’s fair and relive their ‘magical’ days at the trade fair while they conduct their businesses. Music concerts, competitions, and play grounds for children are but a few of the items she listed on the package for this year.
“What I hear is that Trade Fair used to be this magical place…so the exhibitions are going on but at the same time you and your children are having fun, you and your children are participating in the fair, there is entertainment, there are musicians here, it’s that type of feel that I am hoping that this 22nd International Trade Fair will be,” she said.
“We’ve partnered with some of the media groups, they will put up a grand concert for everyone to come and enjoy, we have set up a family day of activities so you can bring your children to play on the bouncy castles and have fun, all encompassing the family, we will focus on the family to have fun, we have food fests planned, we even have a day where CEO’s will compete to cook. We have infused some entertainment in the actual exhibit so every day will have a package so that you and your family can come and enjoy,” she noted.
Dr. Adu further noted GTFC’s readiness to accommodate all participants and investors invited for this year’s fair.
“We are rapidly moving along. We are making extra rooms outside the pavilions and the normal outdoor pavilions, we are adding an area of about 30,000 square meters that we’ve cleared that we are going to stage an outdoor exhibition pavilion as part of the fair so this year we’ve even added extra space so we’ll be able to accommodate really, all and everybody. We are indeed ready to house all 600 participants if indeed all 600 participants will come,” she said.
