Ghana Trade Fair Company to become trade hub in West Africa- CEO

Dr. Agnes Adu, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Trade Fair Company (GTFC) has resolved to make the edifice a trade hub of West Africa and a trading destination for the country’s global partners.

Dr Adu said the company has put in place a Project Management Team to assess the situation on the ground to revamp the facility, which had been in disrepair over the years, within the next five years.

The CEO of GTFC made this known during a press conference in Accra on the third day of the ongoing 22nd Ghana International Trade Fair.

The fair is under the theme “Industrializing Ghana, Creating Jobs,” is expected to bring together over 600 exhibitors, investors, entrepreneurs and financial institutions. The fair, which began on February 28 is expected to end on March 7, this year.

Dr Adu said the fair also sought to focus on Ghana’s industrialization policy of ‘One District One Factory’, which has been connected to the 216 districts in the country.

She was happy that delegations from Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, Gambia, Italy and Germany are participating in the fair and was hopeful that indigenous firms in the country would be able to link up with them.

According to Dr Adu, a business seminar has been held for the over 300 entrepreneurs, developers and investors to enable them to connect with various sources of funding available in the banks.

She said the company has also made room for families to have fun with their kids and value for money.

Dr Adu said President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo is expected to visit the fair on March 6, a day set aside as “Ghana’s Day.”

The fair would be climaxed with an Ntoma dinner dance, with Mrs Rebecca Akufo Addo as the special guest of honour.
