ACCRA, Oct 8 (Reuters) - The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) index slightly recovered on Friday after posting some losses during last session, according to the official market report.
The all-share index gained 0.68 point and closed at 763.58, but is still down 12,07 percent on the year. On Wednesday, it shed 0.45 point to 762.90.
Volume stood at 103,800 shares, worth 114.33 million cedis ($39,154), up from last session's 30,600 shares, worth 24.90 million cedis ($9,051).
Trading in Home Finance Company's Series D Bonds started on Friday, according to a statement from the GSE research department.
It said that a recent offer which had targeted $2.0 million, had attracted $2.7 million, exceeding the target by 36 percent.
Today's only gainer, British American Tobacco, added 30 cedis to 410, its highest of the year. It was also the most active stock, attracting 51,000 shares, about half of the total number of shares traded on Friday.
Social Security Bank, one of the two losers, dropped 10 cedis and finished at 1,980, with 5,700 shares traded. Aluworks shed one cedi and posted a new low at 2,498, trading only 300 shares.
